Brainstorming My Next Backend Product - Indie Hacker Vlog #1
Video description
I’m starting a new Indie Hacker Vlog series where I document the real process of building software products from scratch - starting before I even know what I’m going to build.
In this first episode, I brainstorm backend product ideas based on three things: my technical interests, my engineering strengths, and the domains where I already have experience.
Timestamps: 00:00 - Introduction 02:50 - Main Areas of Interests 10:00 - AI Workflow Engine 17:00 - Lightweight Continuous delivery 34:43 - Agentic CLI / MCP Tool 39:00 - Agentic CLI Security Tool 52:50 - Next Steps
I start with areas such as Rust, AI, system programming, backend engineering, high-load systems, monitoring, IoT, and continuous delivery, and try to turn that experience into actual software product ideas.
During the brainstorming session, I explore several directions: • AI Workflow - a self-contained workflow engine for running and automating AI/LLM tasks • Lightweight CD Solution - a simple CLI-based deployment tool for deploying applications to AWS, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, and other infrastructure • Agentic CLI / MCP Security Tool - a controlled execution layer that allows AI agents to run approved commands without unrestricted shell access
For each idea, I think through the problem, potential architecture, users, technical implementation, and whether it could become a useful product.
There is no finished product yet and no predetermined winner. This is the actual early-stage brainstorming process.
Leave your opinion in the comments - I may use the feedback to decide what I build in the next episode.

How To Keep Building Side Projects in AI era?
How do you stay motivated to build projects when AI tools are taking over more of the coding? Building projects is an essential part of the indie hacking journey. But as a software engineer, it can be difficult to keep going when AI is changing the work that made you excited about building software in the first place.
A Better Way to Brainstorm Startup Ideas | Indie Hacking Vlog #3
In this video, I’m improving my indie hacking brainstorming process by using the How Might We technique to move from problems and product vision toward concrete product ideas. Instead of immediately brainstorming features or startup ideas, I start by defining the product vision: what problem I want to solve, who I want to help, and what outcome the product should create. I also explain the criteria I use to evaluate and vote on different directions.
